Akron Youth Orchestra

The Akron Youth Orchestra will present a winter concert on Sunday afternoon, January 29th at Tallmadge High School.  There’ll be music of Mozart, Holst, Schubert and Berlioz.  330-535-8131 

Canton Symphony

Music Director Gerhardt Zimmermann leads the Canton Symphony’s next concert on Saturday evening, January 28th.  There’ll be music of Benjamin, Mozart, Rachmaninoff and Dvorak.  330-452-2094  

Cavani String Quartet

The Cavani String Quartet and friends will celebrate Mozart’s birthday on Wednesday evening, January 25th, with a performance of his String Quintet in g, as well the the String Quintet in G by Brahms in Kulas Hall at the Cleveland Institute of Music.  216-791-5000  

Clague Playhouse

At Clague Playhouse, the new production is Love From a Stranger, based on a story by Agatha Christie.  It runs January 20th through February 12th.  440-331-0403  

Cleveland Ballet

Cleveland Ballet will present an encore performance of A Celebration of Dance and Music on Friday evening, January 27th, at Playhouse Square’s  Hanna Theater.  216-241-6000  

Cleveland Chamber Music Society

The Cleveland Chamber Music Society brings the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet to town for music of Reicha, Ligeti, Aho and Nielsen, on Tuesday evening, February 7th.  The concert takes place at Plymouth Church of Shaker Heights.  216-291-2777  

Cleveland Opera Theater

Cleveland Opera Theater and the Cleveland Composers Guild are presenting two performances of a collaborative program on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon, January 20th and 22nd in the Fynette Kulas Recital Hall of the Boesel Musical Arts Center at Baldwin Wallace College. 

Cleveland Playhouse

Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville:  A Sherlock Holmes Mystery will be on stage at the Cleveland Playhouse in Playhouse Square January 21st through February 12th.  216-241-6000  

Cleveland Public Theater

Cleveland Public Theater presents a three-day new play development program called Entry Point, with six stages hosting a dozen new works, fo artists and two panels, Friday through Sunday, January 20th through 22nd at several different locations on the Cleveland Public Theater campus.  216-631-2727 ext 501  

Dobama Theater

Ensemble Theater’s next production is a stage adaptation of The Phantom Tollbooth, playing January 13th through 22nd

Keyboard Conversations

The next Keyboard Conversations program by pianist Jeffrey Siegel takes place in Cleveland State Univeristy’s Waetjen Auditorium on Sunday afternoon, February 5th.  There’ll be music of Albeniz, Granados, Falla and Ginastera.  216-687-5018  

Lara Downes

Pianist Lara Downes will perform music from her recent recording America Again in concert on Sunday afternoon, February 5th in the Akron-Summit County Public Library Auditorium.  330-836-0419  

Les Delices

The ensemble Les Delices will explore music of Mozart in a pair of concerts on Saturday and Sunday, January 21st and 22nd at the Prospect Gallery and Plymouth Church of Shaker Heights.  The concerts consider Mozart in Paris – music of Mozart and other composers who were popular in that city, including Boccherini and Gluck. 

Lorain County Metroparks

Lucas Debargue

Pianist Lucas Debargue will make his Cleveland recital debut at Severance Hall on Friday evening, February 3rd, in Reinberger Chamber Hall.  His program will include music of Scarlatti, Chopin, Ravel and Medtner.  216-231-1111   

Musical Theater Project

The Musical Theater Project and the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra will once again join forces for two performances of Hey Big Spender:  The Cy Coleman Songbook, at the Hanna Theater on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, January 28th and 29th.  216-241-6000  

Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra

The Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra’s ensembles, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Sinfonietta Strings and Amati Strings, will perform music of Borodin, Dvorak, Bizet, Mason Bates and others at Oberlin College’s Finney Chapel on Sunday afternoon, January 22nd.  440-775-3059  

Suburban Symphony

The next concert by the Suburban Symphony Orchestra will include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 along with music of Stravinsky and Debussy.  The concert takes place on Sunday afternoon, January 29th, at the Beachwood High School auditorium. 

Tuesday Musical
