Apollo’s Fire will present four performances of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Rediscovered in Northeast Ohio in July. On Saturday, July 1st, they’ll be at First United Methodist Church in Akron, and on Sunday afternoon, July 2nd, at St. Raphael Church in Bay Village. They’ll take the show on the road to Tanglewood and Ravinia, and then return at the end of July for two more performances.
The Cleveland Orchestra’s Blossom Music Festival season will begin on July 1st and 2nd, when Jahja Ling leads the Orchestra and pianist Aaron Diehl in music of Gershwin as well as Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky. Loras John Schissel will lead the Orchestra’s Star-Spangled Spectacular on Mall B in Downtown Cleveland on Friday, June 30th, and he’ll also conduct the Blossom Band concerts of July 3rd and 4th. 216-231-1111
Cleveland Shakespeare Festival
The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival's 20th Anniversary season of free outdoor theater begins with performances of The Taming of the Shrew in nine different venures from Cleveland's Public Square to Lakewood to Mentor from June 16th through July 2nd.
Duo Mignarda will be joined by viola da gambist Malina Rauschenfels in muisc of sixteenth and seventeenth century France on Saturday evening, June 17th, at Tregoning and Company in the Gordon Square Arts District.
Emergent Universe Oratorio
Cleveland’s Blue Water Chamber Orchestra and the Cleveland Chamber Choir will present the world premiere performance of composer Sam Guarnaccia’s Emergent Universe Oratorio on Friday evening, June 30th, at the Maltz Performing Arts Center at Case Western Reserve University. 216-368-6062
