Musical Theater Project

Cleveland Orchestra

The Cleveland Orchestra’s 99th season will begin at Severance Hall on Thursday and Friday, September 29th and 30th, with a pair of concerts led by Music Director Franz Welser-Moest.  He’ll also lead the October 1st Gala Concert which will feature pianist Emmanuel Ax.  216-231-1111  

Cleveland Chamber Music Society

The new season of concerts presented by the Cleveland Chamber Music Society begins on Tuesday evening, September 27th, at Plymouth Church of Shaker Heights.  The Montrose Trio will play trios by Turina, Beethoven and Brahms.

Ensemble Theater

Ensemble Theater’s 2016-2017 season opens with The Bloodless Jungle by Peter Lawson Jones.  Performances take place September 15th through October 5th

Great Lakes Theater Festival

The Great Lakes Theater Festival will have the classic musical My Fair Lady at the Hanna Theater in Playhouse Square September 23rd through October 29th.  Twelfth Night will be running in repertory beginning on September 30th.  216-241-6000  

Tuesday Musical

The Emerson String Quartet will open the Tuesday Musical season  on Tuesday evening, September 27th, at the E. J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall.  The concert will include the world premiere of a new work by Mark Anthony Turnage, who’ll present a pre-concert talk.   330-761-3460  

Cleveland Cinemateque

Two new film series at the Cleveland Cinemateque will begin September 30th and continue through October – Another Mess:  The Restored Laurel and Hardy, and American Demagogue.  Also coming on October 8th is Otto Preminger’s 1959 version of Porgy and Bess, starring Sidney Poitier and Dorothy Dandrige.  216-421-7450  

Trinity Lutheran Church

Mignarda
