Arts and Culture

Arts and Culture are not only “good for the soul,” but add to the economic well-being of the community. Arts and Culture are regularly identified as a remarkable and highly valued asset of the region. While Northeast Ohio claims a strong Arts and Culture sector, maintaining it – without the benefit of the strong industrial base that built it – remains one of the region’s most significant challenges and a real community concern. The Campaign for Community is ensuring that:
- Costs are covered for WCLV, which converted to a non-commercial format on January 1, 2013, while ideastream builds on early fundraising success to sustain WCLV as a non-commercial station
- More news and public affairs reports on Arts and Culture are delivered locally and shared nationally
- Major arts events are available to the public
- The technology platform is built to make Arts and Culture programming accessible and usable before, during and after its delivery, online and through social media, in full-length and excerpted versions
