The IMPACT Study: Clinical Trials for Youth and Teens

Program Time:   1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

FREE Special Distance Learning Presentation

The presentation will showcase a current clinical trial, the IMPACT Study, that helps children make effective diet and lifestyle changes to improve health, wellness and quality of life.

This three-part series engages students (Grades 7-12) in conversations with medical professionals who will explain the science behind clinical trials and how they improve health and wellness, highlighting local clinical trials studying diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. Local medical researchers and experts from top medical institutions (Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth Medical Center, University Hospitals at Case Medical Center, and Louis Stokes VA Medical Center) will describe how their research directly impacts patient health in the community. A Science Education Partnership Award from the National Institutes of Health funds the BMT: STEM distance learning programs.

Schools interested in participating in FREE this educational opportunity should contact John Ramicone at 216-916-6360 or john.ramicone@ideastream.org by April 23rd.
