With Republicans in control of legislative and – soon -- executive bodies in both Washington, DC and Columbus, Ohio Democrats are struggling to reach Buckeye voters. Former Congressman Dennis Kucinich says his party needs to find its center again.
"The Democrats fell down on the job," he says. "When they started to take money from the same corporations that were funding the Republicans, the differences between the two parties were wiped out. So the Democrats have to go back to that old time religion. They have to go back and organize and give people a reason to vote Democrat. But you can’t just run a donkey up on a flag and say, 'oh, we’re all Democrats.' No, people are looking for results."
Speaking on WVIZ/PBS's ideas, Kucinich says Democrats need to stand for jobs, retirement security, clean air and water, and peace.
