People Coming for the RNC are Starting to Rent Homes

When officials announced the Republican National Convention would take place in Cleveland, Northeast Ohio residents imagined they could make big bucks renting their homes.

Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, the approved housing provider for the RNC, has closed some 40 deals on properties in the last few weeks says Director of Property Management Jared Zak.

Out of the hundreds of homes available in Northeast Ohio, that range in price from 15-hundred to over 100-thousand dollars, the ones in demand, Zak says, are going for 15-thousand or less for that week.

He says calls are coming from all over the world.

"We got a call from a Chinese media company,” Zak said. “An Australian media called us, as far as big corporations there’s a California group that recently reached out to us so. So, as far as Australia and as close as Michigan, people are looking for homes.”

Zak says properties in downtown, Ohio City, Tremont and Lakewood are in high demand. And for those needing a lot of bedrooms they’re willing to look as far as Cleveland Heights.
