Ending Traffic-Related Deaths In Cleveland

Cleveland officials have begun developing an action plan aimed at eliminating traffic-related deaths in the city. It borrows from an approach known as “Vision Zero” that originated in Sweden more than 20 years ago and has since been modeled successfully in cities such as New  York and Los Angeles.  Using prevention strategies and crash data, the goal is make roads safer for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. To learn more about the initiative and how it might change your streets, ideastream’s Rick Jackson spoke with Cleveland City Councilman Matt Zone, who chairs council’s Safety Committee.
