Supermarket Coalition's Goal Is To Reduce Food Deserts In Cuyahoga County

A new collaboration that calls itself The Health Improvement Partnership-Cuyahoga Consortium Supermarket Coalition held its first public meeting last week.

The group  comprised of nearly 50 people from government and non-profit agencies, and including representatives of those most directly affected by what we've come to call food deserts  aims to help improve access to grocery stores.

Roger Sikes, the program manager for the Cuyahoga County Board of Health's Creating Healthy Communities Program, talks about the coalitions goals.
