New Peanut Allergy Guidelines

Peanut butter can be a yummy lunch option, unless you have an allergy to it.

An allergy is a negative response by your body to a specific substance.
You might have someone in your class who is allergic to peanut butter - eating it could make them very sick.

The food and drug administration is the part of our government that makes sure food is safe for us to eat. The department just announced that they've got some new guidelines about peanuts. They found that introducing peanuts to babies between four and ten months old can reduce their chance of being allergic to peanut products, when they grow up.

The food and drug administration said they will soon label which peanut foods are okay for infants.
