Author of "Locking Up Our Own" Discusses Elements of Mass Incarceration

James Foreman Jr. uses his experience as a Public Defender in Washington DC to delve into a topic often overlooked when examining the disporpotionate imprisonment of black people in America. And that's the role that black leaders themselves -- politicians, judges, cops and clergy -- played in the tough-on-crime culture.  Foreman will be with us on the Sound of Ideas to discuss his book, "Locking up Our Own: Crime and Punishment in Black America."
