Apollo's Fire

Apollo’s Fire is presenting several performances of its Christmas on Sugarloaf Mountain program through December 14th.  216-320-0012  

Beck Center

In Lakewood, the Beck Center has Shrek:  The Musical in the Mackey Theater December 7th through January 6th.  216-521-2540  

CityMusic Cleveland

CItyMusic Cleveland will have five performances of its next concert, led by Stefan Willich.  Cleveland Orchestra Principal Oboist Frank Rosenwein will be the soloist in the Oboe Concerto by Richard Strauss.  There’s also music of Rossini and Mozart.  Concerts take place December 12th through 16th at a variety of locations.  216-632-3572  

Cleveland Orchestra

Guest conductor Richard Kaufman leads the Cleveland Orchestra’ s holiday concerts at Severance Hall.  There’ll be eleven performances beginning December 14th through 23rd.  There are a mix of afternoon and evening concerts.  The Orchestra will be joined by the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, Children’s Chorus and Youth Chorus Chamber Ensemble. Actor Jamie Farr of MASH fame will be a special guest narrator in A Night Before Christmas.  216-231-1111  

Cleveland Public Theater

Cleveland Public Theater brings the return of the holiday entertainment Conni’s Avant Garde Restaurant, from New York City, in the Gordon Square Theater November 29th through December 22nd.  216-631-2727  ext 501  

Dobama Theater

Dobama Theater has the regional premiere of the musical with puppets Ella Enchanted, playing through December 30th.  216-932-3396 

Great Lakes Theater Festival

Great Lakes Theater Festival has the 30th annual presentation of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol beginning November 30th and running through December 23rd in the Hanna Theater. 

Les Delices

Quire Cleveland and Les Delices will join forces for three performances of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Midnight Mass for Christmas Eve in Akron, Lakewood and Cleveland December 21st, 22nd and 23rd.   216-302-8404 

Messiah Sing

Credo Music will present is eleventh annual Sing-Along Messiah on Sunday evening, December 16th, at Oberlin College’s Finney Chapel.

 

Neos Dance Theater

Neos Dance Theater brings its 1940s Nutcracker to the Stocker Center at Lorain County Community College for three performances, December 14th, 15th and 16th.  440-366-4040  

No Exit

Cleveland’s New Music Ensemble No Exit continues celebrating its tenth concert season with a series of three concerts with newly-commissioned works by Ty Emerson, Hong-Da Chin and others on Friday, November 30th at Cleveland State, Saturday, December 8th at the Bop Stop, and Friday, December 14th at Spaces Gallery. 

Rocky River Presbyterian

Rocky River Presbyterian Church will host the Rocky River Community Chorus and Band in concert on Sunday evening, December 16th.  440-333-4888  

Strongsville United Church of Christ

On Friday evening, December 14th, the Strongsville United Church of Christ will host a holiday concert featuring the Strongsville Community Jazz Band. 440-238-6697  

Symphony West

Victoria Marra conducts Symphony West’s holiday concert, a program called We Traverse Afar on Friday evening, December 14th, at Gamble Auditorium at Baldwin Wallace University. 

Theater in the Circle

Theater in the Circle has a new retelling of the O. Henry classis The Gift of the Magi with five performances Thursday, Decembr 6th, through Sunday the 9th at Judson Manor in University Circle. 

Tuba Christmas Lorain

The Lorain Palace Theater will host a Merry Tuba Christmas on Sunday afternoon, December 16th.  Registration for performers is at 10AM. 

Weathervane Playhouse

Akron’s Weathervane Playhouse will have Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the Founders Theater November 23rd through December 22nd, with a series of weekday matinee concerts beginning November 20th.  330-836-2626
