Akron Symphony Podcasts
The Akron Symphony has debuted a new series on its Unorchestra Podcast Channel. It's titled Deep River: The Legacy of the Spirituals. The episode is availabe on a variety of channels, including Apple, Google, Spotify and Libsyn.
Apollo's Fire
Apollo's Fire will present four live performances of Virtuosity: Fireworks from J. S. Bach. The concert will include the Violin Concerto in d, Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and with soprano Amanda Forsythe, and the Cantata No. 51. Live performances will take place iln Akron, Shaker Heights and Avon Lake; The concert will stream online for 30 days beginning May 11.
Baldwin Wallace Bach Festival
The Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music presents the 2021 Virtual Bach Festival. Highlihghts will include a series of podcasts from March 13th through April 13th, a tricute to retiring Professor of Cello Regina Mushabac on April 16th, a Town Hall Reunion on April 17th, and a Bach Mass in b minor restrospective on April 18th.
Baldwin Wallace Conservatory
The Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music is offering free virtual concerts: A Percussion Ensemble live streamed concert on Saturday evening, April 24 at 7:00, a live streamed faculty recital featuring Marisa Esposito, bassoon, and Christine Fuoco, piano, on Sunday afternoon, April 25 at 12:30, and a Symphonic Band & Symphonic Wind Ensemble YouTube Premiere video conducted by Brendan Caldwell on Friday evening, April 30 at 7:00

The next virtual production from the Baldwin Wallace Theater Department is She Kills Monster by Qui Nguyen, It will run Thursday through Monday, April 29th through May 3rd.
ChamberFest Cleveland
ChamberFest Cleveland has announced that there WILL be a free outdoor festival this year, taking place June 9th through 26th. More information will be coming at the beginning of May. Check the website for information.
Church of the Covenant
At the Church of the Covenant in University Circle, there are two series of drive-in carillon concerts, on Fridays at lunchtime, 12:15, and on Sunday afternoons at 4:00, On Friday, February 12th,
Sheryl MNodlin will be the Guest Carillonneur a Black History Month program. which will be live streamed.
CityMusic Cleveland
The next concert by CItyMusic Cleveland is called Syncretism. It takes place on Sunday afternoon, April 11th at the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus. The program includes Han by Jyungyoon Wie and the Clarinet Quintet of Samuel Coleridge Taylor. Other programs yet to come include a Romantic Sampler of Sweden and German on April 23rd, In Search of Peace on May 14th and 15th, and music of Schubert and Zwillich on June 4th and 5th.
Cleveland Chamber Collective
The Cleveland Chamber Collective will present a concert streamed live from the Bop Stop on Wednesday evening, April 21st at 7:00. The program, called Music of America, will showase the diversity of styles and influences defining the current American musical landscape.
Cleveland Cinematheque
Cleveland Cinemateque’s Virtual Multiplex has more than twenty films available for viewing on line, with new films being added each week. You can check out the current list at their website.
Cleveland International Film Festival
The 45th Cleveland International Film Festival is called CIFF 45 Streams - a virtual festival that begins on April 7th and runs through the 17th. For ticket information, visit the website at
Cleveland Museum of Art
The Cleveland Museum of Art is open for in-person visits. The Museum is currently presenting a show called Stories from Storage - items from the Museum's collection that have not generally been on public view. Reservations are required.
Cleveland Musicians Union
Local Four of the Cleveland Musicians Union continues its virtual concert series with two performances each month, on the second and third Thursday evenings. Both classical and jazz performances will continue through May, THere will also be two performances of a Songwriters Showcase on Saturday, April 10th. In June, a new sereis will begin. It's called She Scores - devoted to mus9ic by living female composers.
Cleveland Orchestra
The Cleveland Orchestra has announced programming for April and May for the continuing In Focus episodes on Adella.live. Three concerts will be led by Music Director Franz Welser-Moest and one by Associate Condouctor VInay Parameswaran. Four Orchestra principals will be featured, including flutist Joshua Smith, percussionist Mark Damoulakis, oboist Frank Rosenwein and clarinetist Afendi Yusuf. Cleveland Shakespeare Festival
Cleveland Shakespeare Festival has announced tentative plans for this summer -They'll be performing Romeo and Juliet from mid July to mid August. If the outlook continues to improve, they'll do live performances at area parks. If the situation changes, they'll turn it into a recorded radio play format. In the meantime, you can watch last summer's Comedy of Errors and Julius Caesar Part 1 on You Tube.
Cuyahoga Community College
Cuyahoga Community College is presenting the work of 63 regional artists in an exhibit called NewNow 2021, a virtual art exhibit in co-operation with Artists Archives of the Western Reserve. The show opens February 18th and will continue through April 17th.
Great Lakes Theater
Great Lakes Theater will cointinue its online series called Great Genres. Attention is focussed next on the works of Shakespeare, the roots of what is now Great Lakes Theater.

Heights Arts’ fifteenth Close Encounters series of concerts is being streamed live from the Bop Stop this year. The first concert, on Saturday afternoon, January 20th, features the Omni Quartet with special guest oboist Frank Rosenwein in music of Handel, Beethoven and others. Les Delices Salon Era
The Salon Era Monday evening concerts presented by Les Delices continue. On April 19th, Soprano Michele Kennedy, tenor Jason McStoots, explore the Orpheus myth from the vantage point of Monteverdi, Charpentier, Rameau, and beyond. And the spring season will conclude on May 3rd with La Folia, featuring remote collaborations with guest in music of Purcell, Monteverdi, Boismortier and others.
Les Delices Virtual Concerts
In April, Les Délices will examine music of Guillaume de Machaut and others in a program called Lai of the Fountain in collaboration with Chicago's Blue Heron. The program streams April 8th through 18th.
Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage
At the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, the special exhibition The Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg opens February 24th and will continue through August 29th. There are a number of events presented in conjunction with the exhibition,, including on-line tours.
National Center for Choreography - Akron
The National Center for Choreography at the University of hosts a spring season of Dancing Conversations. On Thursday, April 15th, choreographer John Heginbotham and violinist and composer Colin Jacobsen will be the guest speakers. In May, Liz Lerman and her collaborators will discuss the domization of women and the invisibility of women as they age, and in June, Akron's Dancing Lab: BLKmenMoves will be joined by Satellite Residency Artist Iquail Shaheed to discuss their experiences working as Black male-identified choreographers.
No Exit New Music Ensemble
THe No Exit New Music Ensemble continues to present concerts of new music in a virtual format. On Friday evening, March 26th, they'll present new works from Northeatern Ohio composers in a free concert. And on April 27th, saxophonist Noa Even will perform solo compositions by Northeaster Ohio student composers.
Piano Cleveland
Piano Cleveland will present its Listening Series: Prelude to Piano, a virtual three-part series on Wednesday evenings, May 5th, 12th and 19th. Sessions are free, but registration is required.
