Careers in Physical and Occupational Therapies

Physical therapists (PT) provide services to individuals and populations to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan.  An occupational therapist (OT) is a health professional who is responsible for helping patients regain their ability to perform daily living and work activities.

Physical and occupational therapists are a valued part of the health care team. They often collaborate with a variety of other professionals such as physicians, nurses, social workers, dentists, educators, audiologists and speech language pathologists.

They work with patients to help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients. They also restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health.

Join us as our presenters discuss the educational background, training, skills and experiences in these two extremely important careers in healthcare.
