Out of all the arts fields, theater and dance may have suffered the most during the pandemic. However, production companies found a way to continue performing by streaming virtual shows to at-home audiences. Stage performances still rely on mainly online delivery, but as vaccination rates climb some shows cautiously begin to provide hybrid offerings. From a theater festival to a fairy tale ballet, here are five stage productions to stream or watch live in Northeast Ohio.

Cleveland Play House

Cleveland Play House premieres the all-virtual New Ground Theatre Festival, "Mapping New Ground," this Saturday, May 15. The event features play excerpts about Cleveland from five playwrights. A pre-recorded broadcast event streams at 4 p.m., and a live conversation with the playwrights goes online at 7:30 p.m.

City Ballet of Cleveland

City Ballet of Cleveland presents a repertoire concert that includes the classical ballet "Paquita" and children's fairy tale "Peter and the Wolf." The stage performances open for a limited, live audience at the Breen Center for Performing Arts and also include a virtual livestream for audiences at home. The event premieres this Saturday, May 15.

Twin Masks Performing Arts Center

Twin Masks Performing Arts Center performs their closing shows of Jason Robert Brown's hit musical " The Last Five Years" this weekend from Friday, May 14, to Saturday, May 15. The performances begin streaming at 8 p.m., with Sean Fleming and Noelle Elise Crites starring as the leads.

Wake Up and Live's Actor's Studio

Four emerging African American playwrights present a collection of one-act plays and scenes in " Wake Up to Life: Out of the Ashes." The event, presented by Wake Up and Live's Actor's Studio, centers around self-esteem and health issues. The production streams virtually this weekend on Saturday, May 15, and Sunday, May 16.

Cleveland Public Theatre

Cleveland Public Theatre premieres a pop-up performance of " Savory Tanha (Sixteen Short Plays Performed By A Rotating Ensemble)" this Friday, May 14. The production streams virtually and centers around loss, happiness and hope.
