Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine did not attend Tuesday’s debate in Cleveland. But Lt. Gov. Jon Husted did, and is being monitored as a precaution following President Donald Trump’s announcement overnight that he tested positive for COVID-19.

Husted’s spokeswoman said he did not meet with or sit with Trump or any member of his family or staff. Husted was at least 50 feet away from the stage during the debate, Carolyn Cypret said, and, was at least 50 feet away from the president's family and friends during the event.

Husted wore a mask throughout the entire event, according to Cypret. And though there is no reason to believe he came into contact with anyone who was positive with COVID-19, he will be tested today and is being monitored for symptoms.
