On December 5, Richard Cordray announced his candidacy for Governor.
He was the first Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a position he held from January 2012 until November 24, 2017.
Cordray has served the State of Ohio as Attorney General, Treasurer, Solicitor General in addition to being the Franklin County Treasurer and a State Representative. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago, his M.A. from Oxford University's Brasenrose College, and his B.A. from Michigan State University.
