Deal removes barriers to the Opportunity Corridor, but questions about who will benefit remain

Last week, Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson gave the green light for construction to begin on the second phase of a controversial roadway; eventually connecting interstate 490, with University Circle neighborhood.

The opportunity corridor, as it's known, will be a 3-point five mile-long boulevard, linking the highway from its terminus  at East 55th street ...To the health and cultural center via east 105th street.

The mayor agreed to continuing construction; after some of his demands to the state were met, including guarantees that city residents will get a fair share of the work and that Ohio will pay for cleaning contaminated land along the route.
