One In Six Cuyahoga Co. Teens Considered Suicide

As the new school year begins, many students in Cuyahoga County are grappling with concerns that extend well beyond the classroom.  The 2017 Youth Risk Behavior Surveygives a glimpse into the fraught world our students are navigating.

The study focuses on a wide-range of topics including diet and exercise, drug and substance use, sex, mental health and violence.

Erika Trapl, Associate Director at Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods at Case Western Reserve University talks about how these findings will be used to help policy makers shape programming to meet the needs of young people and what parents can do to stop their children from partaking in risky behavior.
