Sarcoidosis is a little-known disease that causes inflammation in the body. It's most commonly found in the lungs and lymph nodes, but can also target the eyes, skin, and heart. It's not clear what causes the disease, making it difficult to diagnose. ideastream's Rick Jackson spoke with Dr. Daniel Culver, director of the Cleveland Clinic's Sarcoidosis Center, and Kerry Kerchak who was diagnosed with the disease in 2010. Dr. Culver and Kerry spoke about the realities of the condition, and how the Clinic is raising awareness during April which is Sarcoidosis Awareness Month.
