A Plus: Newport Elementary Students Win Penmanship Award

READ THE SCRIPT:

That brings me to our A+. It's for a group of students at Newport Elementary. You all probably used a computer, tablet, maybe even a phone to send us your letters, but you've always got the option to hand write your letters and send them through the mail. I got one just this week. Whether it's a thank you note, birthday card, or a letter, handwritten messages can be a lot more personal. Before you pick up that pen though, make sure your handwriting is up to snuff.

Do you know that some schools and organizations right here in Ohio award students for their penmanship? Earlier this spring three students from Newport Elementary School were recognized for their handiwork. See what I did there?. Anna, Kaylynn, and Katelyn won the annual Zaner-Bloser handwriting contest.

Occupational therapist Carol Armann, as well as teachers at the school work to encourage students to perfect their scripts, and say handwriting helps with reading comprehension. So congratulations to Anna, Kaylynn, and Katelyn. For your hard work, we're awarding you this week's NewsDepth A+.
