A Plus: Sherwood Elementary Students Relay for Life!

READ THE SCRIPT:

Plenty of you have been pitching in to help out those less fortunate than you are, our A+ goes out to the 68 6th graders at Sherwood Elementary in Cincinnati who participated in their school's Relay for Life.

Relay for Life is an annual fundraising effort that benefits the American Cancer Society. Communities around the world sponsor Relay for Life walks, every Spring.

The Sherwood 6th graders gathered pledges, laced up their sneakers and headed to the school track to walk and raise money to beat cancer. They collected more than $10,500!

The school also organized a luminaria walk that honored cancer survivors and remembers those who've died.

6th grade teacher, Miss Sharkey says, "It was an inspiring night and these children have made an impact that will last a lifetime."

So congratulations Sherwood 6th graders and the rest of you who I'm sure participated in your communities' Relay for Life events, for your philanthropy and hard work, we're awarding you this week's NewsDepth A+.
