THE CUYAHOGA RIVER ISN’T THE ONLY RIVER IN OHIO SUFFERING FROM POLLUTION. IN SOUTHEAST OHIO, RUNOFF FROM ABANDONED COAL MINES HAVE BEEN POLLUTING STREAMS AND WATERWAYS FOR YEARS. BUT ONE ARTIST AND TEACHER AT OHIO UNIVERSITY FOUND A WAY TO TURN THIS TOXIC RUNOFF INTO PALETTE-WORTHY PAINTS.
