Chef Bites Back

BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO YELL AND WAVE SIGNS TO PROTEST – IN FACT, ONE TOP CHEF FOUND A CREATIVE WAY TO VOICE HIS OPINION.  A CUSTOMER RECEIVED THIS RECEIPT FROM KIWIANA-- AN UPSCALE RESTAURANT IN NEW YORK.  THE BOTTOM READS "IMMIGRANTS MAKE AMERICA GREAT-- THEY ALSO COOKED YOUR FOOD AND SERVED YOU TODAY."  MARK SIMMONS IS THE CHEF AND OWNER, HES SAYS HE CREATED THE NOTE SOON AFTER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP'S TRAVEL BAN WAS PUT IN PLACE.  SIMMONS MOVED TO AMERICA FROM NEW ZEALAND TEN YEARS AGO.  THE CHEF SAID HE WAS JUST PRACTICING HIS FREEDOM OF SPEECH... AND THE RESPONSE HE HAS RECEIVED HAS BEEN PRETTY POSITIVE OVERALL.
