NewsDepth Inbox: Season 49 - Episode #18

We asked you to tell us what service projects you have either participated in or would like to plan:

Clio, Grant Elementary: "I would plan to help animals in animal shelters. I think I should help animals in animal shelters because it's really sad when they have to kill them.:( I would give them blankets and make toys for the animals. People could donate sheets and blankets to the animal shelter. We could make dog toys out of strips of felt and braid it since I already know how to do that when we did it all together in class."

Brayden, St. Peter School: "In March, we collect food for Community Care. Our program is called March the Madness out of hunger. It is focused around the college basketball playoffs. For every ten cans of food our class brings in, we get to pick a team banner for the playoffs. If one of the team banner you picked wins, the whole class gets a dress down day. At the end we give all the canned goods to Community Care to help families receive food."

Jennifer, Kensington Intermediate: "Since I am a Girl Scout and I sell cookies. I would get the whole community to get to bake 1,000 cookies and then we would donate them to the Men and Women shelter in downtown Cleveland. It would be a good idea to do because everyone deserves some sweets in their life especially if they don't have anything."

J'Meawna, Gearity Elementary: "Ok so my name is J'Meawna and I am at Gearity Elementary School. I know a way I can help people is by donating money, food, hygiene, and clothes, and shoes, and coats like for the winter because I see people walking in the snowing cold. They don't have a coat or shoes and I feel so bad and want to help them and I can by donating. Thanks for time and reading everbody that's out there. Try to help others out if you see they need help."

Claire, Grant Elementary: "The community service I would do is make sure homeless people could have weddings. I would try to make weddings more easier to afford. I would reserve a church, order a cake, and get a dress, and make sure the bride and groom are as happy as can be. Think about it, everyone who wants a wedding should be able to get one! And I would make sure EVERYONE would get what they want, no matter how much money it costs."
