NewsDepth Inbox: Season 49 - Episode #27

Last week we asked you to tell us how environmental issues in your neighborhood and how you'd like to fix them.  Here's what some of you said:

Jervis, Lake Cable Elementary: "I see a lot of people throwing away recyclable objects so to fix it I think I would first recycle or dispose of the trash correctly and then I would start spreading signs telling others to recycle. If I could I would also give a reward that if you recycle 10 times you get a reward like a dollar so it would encourage people to recycle. Then I would make stores or fast foods have wraps that can be easily decomposed so if people do litter it would at least help the environment."

Jocelyn, Munroe Elementary: "Every day this guy comes zooming down my street playing his music with the volume all the way up, and he just drops his food out his window. we don´t know who it is so we can really tell anybody about it but, me and my brothers go out and pick it all up. And I personally think that if a business was harming places around it, they would just stop."

Macy, Evening Street Elementary: "One threat to nature I see is cutting down trees and to help it I will tell people to stop and if they don't I will plant a tree in place of the OLD one."

Isaac, Buckeye Intermediate: "I had been wondering what the English ivy was doing to our woods. Other than the trees and the ivy there are no other plants. What I can do to help is go and try and reduce the amount of ivy in our woods. Maybe then I will see other plants in the woods and it will help the environment grow."

Corey, Morgan Elementary: "When you had the invasive plant part they said to spray pesticides on them, but our class did some research, and it shows that pesticides kill the bees the most. So, don't do it."
